Medical, Dental, and Vision

The SJSU Research Foundation is pleased to offer a variety of medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage options for our employees and their dependents.

Medical Insurance

The Research Foundation pays an established monthly
amount toward medical insurance coverage, and the
employee is responsible for a co-payment amount
depending upon their level of coverage. Four plans are
offered — Kaiser, EPO, PPO, and HDHP. Other than
Kaiser, plans are administered through BRMS with Blue
Shield Network.

Dental Insurance

Research Foundation offers benefited employees and their eligible dependents enrollment in MetLife's dental benefits [pdf]. The Research Foundation pays 100% of the dental premium for both employees and their currently eligible dependents. Enrollment in the dental plan is effective on the first day of the month following the employee’s start date, assuming timely submission of enrollment through Workday benefit elections.


Vision Insurance

Research Foundation offers benefited employees and their eligible dependents vision coverage through MetLife’s vision service plan (VSP) [pdf]. The Research Foundation pays 100% of the vision premium for both employees and their currently eligible dependents. Enrollment in the vision plan is effective first day of the month following the employee’s start date, assuming timely submission of enrollment through Workday benefit elections.
