About Us

About the Lucas College
Founded in 1928, the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business has been accredited since 1967 by AACSB International, the world’s preeminent accreditation body for business schools. We are the largest contributor of business graduates to Silicon Valley and a major contributor to what the Valley is today. Like the university in which it is housed, The Lucas College and Graduate School of Business reflects the vibrant, multi-cultural and global atmosphere of Silicon Valley. With more than 175 faculty and 6,000 students, our college offers students global opportunities, while holding strong ties to Silicon Valley companies.
Through our undergraduate schools and departments, we deliver thirteen business concentrations and our graduate school provides advanced degrees and certificates in business, accounting, finance, taxation and transportation management. Our Centers and Institutes offer unique opportunities for students to hone their knowledge and skills in tax, accounting, financial services, operations management, global leadership and entrepreneurship.
Vision: The Lucas College and Graduate School of Business inspires and empowers students to succeed as responsible innovators, leaders, and members of society who will drive positive and sustainable change in Silicon Valley and beyond.
Mission: We are the premier business school of opportunity in Silicon Valley dedicated to the inclusive, equitable, and transformative education of tomorrow’s workforce, which we achieve through innovative learning experiences, impactful research, and meaningful engagement with our local and global communities.
The Lucas Delta
Every Spartan leaves with an edge. The Lucas Delta is the transformation that defines the difference between potential and performance.
It is the measurable difference between where a student begins and everything they can become. At Lucas College, that transformation is built on three pillars:
- Access to hands-on learning with leading organizations at the heart of Silicon Valley
- Courses taught by award-winning faculty and industry experts
- One-on-one mentoring from Silicon Valley professionals who have walked the path our students are on
All of this at a fraction of the cost of comparable programs. Silicon Valley businesses hire from us because they value and trust what our degree produces.
The shift from aspiration to achievement, from inspiration to impact, from promise to purpose. It does not happen by accident. It happens when the right education meets an aspiring student at the right moment — here, at the premier business school of opportunity in Silicon Valley.
Because Silicon Valley does not reward average. It rewards edge. And an edge is not something you are given — it is something you earn, through persistence, innovation and resilience. At Lucas College, we make sure every Spartan earns it. We build it every day, in the heart of the world's most dynamic innovation ecosystem.
Our Spartans shape Silicon Valley's story. They leave here not just with knowledge, but with the courage to design inclusive innovations — as responsible innovators, leaders and society members driving positive and sustainable change in Silicon Valley and far beyond. This is what inclusive, equitable and transformative education looks like when it is done right. This is what opportunity, made real, produces.
- Adriana Yesenia Arreola arrived at Lucas College as a first-generation student who chose business because it felt safe. She left as an MBA graduate and one of just 65,000 volunteers selected from over a million applicants to work the 2026 FIFA World Cup — on the field at Levi's Stadium, directing officials as the world watched.
- Four students — Lauren De Guzman, Neha Rao, Harshika Vijayabharath and Rhea Ramalingam — met as strangers the morning of the NVIDIA GTC Hackathon. By that evening they had beaten competitors from across the country to claim first place, building a team, a solution and a future in a single afternoon.
- Robine van Veen transferred from the University of Amsterdam with a passion for racing and a desire to study marketing. She graduated cum laude, led Spartan Racing as president and left with her sights set on becoming a chief marketing officer in the automotive industry — in a sector that has rarely made room for women.
- Tai Nguyen arrived at Lucas College as a first-generation immigrant with a goal his family had never reached before. He graduated in 2026 as an MIS scholar, named an Ideas to Inspire Fellow, and the first in his family to hold a university degree.
These are not exceptions. This is who we are.
The Spartan Edge at the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business is not an accident. It is The Lucas Delta in motion.
